Lopressor (Metoprolol Tartrate) is an effective medicine for patients suffering from mild and moderate hypertension(could be used as a monotherapy or together with other medications) , coronary heart disease, hyperkineticocardiac symptom, heart rate disorder (sinus tachycardia,
ventricular and supraventricular arrhythmia including paroxysmal tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, extrasystole, flutter-fibrillation of auricles and auricular tachycardia), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, mitral valve prolapsed, cardiac infarction(prevention and treatment), migraine (prevention), thyrotoxicosis (complex therapy); acathisia caused by neuroleptics. Lopressor (Metoprolol Tartrate) could be taken before or after meal. It is swallowed whole with some water. The dosage of Lopressor (Metoprolol Tartrate) for treating angina, hypertension and arrhythmia associated with hyperkinetic syndrome is 100-200 mg a day taken 2-3 times; if necessary, the dosage could be increased every week until maximal dose is achieved (450mg/day). The dose for migraine prophylaxis is 50–100 mg taken within 2–4 times a day. The dose for treating coronary heart disease, hypertension, arrhythmia, disturbance of cardiac function with concomitant palpitation is 50-100 mg once a day.
