CAT | Atrovent

img000047bAtrovent (Ipratropium Nasal) is intended for treating chronic obstructive lung disease (chronic obstructive bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema); bronchial asthma (mild to moderate), especially with associated cardiovascular diseases. Atrovent (Ipratropium Nasal) is a bronchodilator medicine. It blocks m-cholinergic receptors of smooth muscles of the tracheobronchial tree and inhibits reflectory bronchoconstriction. Atrovent has a structural similarity to acetylcholine molecule, which is its competitive antagonist. The medicine effectively prevents constriction of bronchi caused in the result of inhaling cigarette smoke or cold air or action of various bronchospasmodic substances. Atrovent improves respiratory function in patients with bronchospasm associated with chronic obstructive lung diseases (chronic bronchitis and pulmonary emphysema). The maximal effect of Atrovent (Ipratropium Nasal) is developed in 1-2 hours after taking and lasts up to 6 hours. The dosing schedule of Atrovent (Ipratropium Nasal) is determined individually. The common recommended dose for adults and school
children is 2 inhalation doses (sprayings) 4 times a day. The total daily dose should not exceed 12 inhalations a day.
