CAT | Accutane

accutaneAccutane (Isotretinoin) is a medication for treating severe manifestation of acne. It is effective even in cases when other medicines including antibiotics turned useless.    Accutane (Isotretinoin)  is a form of vitamin A. It reduces the quantity of skin oil produced by sebaceous glands and accelerates the natural regeneration of skin.  The course of treatment lasts 4-6 hours. The refresher course of treatment with Accutane (Isotretinoin) is recommended in case of acne relapse and should not be started earlier than 2 months after completion of the first course of treatment.   Accutane (Isotretinoin) often causes inappreciable side effects which may include dryness and fissures of mucous membranes.  The rare serious side effects include nosebleed, gum ulceration, skeletal muscle pain and sensitiveness to light. Luckily all the side effects mentioned pass away as soon as you stop using the medicine.
There could be more serious complications from Accutane which may make it impossible for use in some patients.   The complications which may occur are: accumulation of calcium in backbone and tedious  ligaments, worsening of night sight, unmotivated mood changes, hair loss and increase of lipid level in blood. These changes may become irreversible if you do not stop using Accutane in time. And another warning: Accutane should not be used by pregnant women or women who are trying to become pregnant.
